Too much information not enough time!
Probably have wondered about RSS for a year now but never took the time to look into what they are. Easy enough to get the information and subscribe to the feeds. I can see students studying current issues subscribing to these while working on the project. Also good resources for us to keep up to date on issues without having to visit numerous websites.

Week 3 #7 -- Technology
Anything technology related -- that leaves this blog wide open! It's kind of like books -- too many books too little time. Time is probably the asset most lacking when it comes to technology and both integrating it into the curriculum and for personal use.
Digital photography and online photo websites are wonderful! Our almost year old grandson lives in Florida so it really helps that they have a family photo website where we can keep in touch with all of their comings and goings. We also Skype with them on a regular basis. E-mail allows us to keep in touch with our former exchange student and his family in the Netherrlands.
Along with an entirely new vocabulary, computers and the web have brought with it entirely new issues. Trying to explain to teens how and why they aren't safe on the web or why to use POWERLibrary tools instead of Google is sometimes like beating your head on a rock! Teachers are even harder to reach. I'm not sure who's worse those teachers who know nothing about technology and hardly ever use it OR those teachers who continue to allow students and even encourage sometimes by example to ignore copyright, plagarism and safety.

Week 3 #6
Flickr FUN is great!!!! I can think of lots of curriculum apps. Already working with a 20th Century American History teacher on her 1960's project -- exciting & fun way for the kids end products!

WOW!!! Lots of interesting photos! Especially amazing are the ones by Garry' from Australia. The photos are absolutely breathtaking. The ocean and sky just appear to be reflecting each other's textures.

Week 2 # 3 -- Blogging
Finally have everything else enough under control that I was finally able to start on the PA Online Web 2.0. And surprise, surprise I have my own blog! Still need to create my Avatar but tomorrow is another day! Every day is definitely a new learning experience! Still more lifelong learning here I come!
